Russia implements artificial intelligence in unmanned systems

Sergiy Beskrestnov, a presidential adviser of Ukraine known by the callsign "Flash", stated that Russia is actively developing unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with artificial intelligence technologies. According to him, such systems are capable of independently identifying and attacking infrastructure objects, specifically trains, cars, and warehouses, without the direct involvement of an operator.

Beskrestnov emphasised that the implementation of these technologies could significantly reduce the effectiveness of existing electronic countermeasures (ECM).

Models with autonomy function already in use

According to the presidential adviser, Russia is already using artificial intelligence in drones of models such as "Molniya", "Geran", and "Lancet". These aircraft have the ability to operate in autonomous mode, independently searching for targets and firing upon them.

Warning about future threats

Sergiy Beskrestnov warned that existing ECM systems may prove ineffective against new autonomous drones. He described a scenario in which the mass use of such drones creates a serious danger.

«Можна запустити тисячу безпілотників, і далі вони автономно шукатимуть цілі та атакуватимуть їх. Це справді жахливе майбутнє» (You can launch a thousand drones, and then they will autonomously search for targets and attack them. This is truly a terrifying future), Beskrestnov noted.
