Russia lifts ban on diesel fuel exports
The Russian Federation has officially lifted the previously imposed ban on diesel fuel exports. This decision was made following a telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during which the parties agreed to expand fuel supplies to the American and global markets.
Supply plans: from hundreds of thousands to millions of tonnes
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Novak stated that in October 2026, Russia plans to supply approximately 300,000 tonnes of diesel to the US and other partner countries. In November, volumes are expected to rise to 500,000 tonnes, and by December, reach one million tonnes per month. In the long term, export volumes could be increased to three million tonnes per month.
US export licence
The US Department of the Treasury has already issued a temporary permit for the supply of Russian diesel fuel to global markets. The licence will remain in effect until 7 April 2027.
Novak’s comment
«Мы ожидаем, что в ближайшие месяцы объёмы поставок будут увеличиваться, и это позволит стабилизировать ситуацию на энергетических рынках» (We expect that in the coming months, supply volumes will increase, which will help stabilise the situation in energy markets), noted Oleksandr Novak.
