Verdict for former deputy director of funeral enterprise

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Poltava issued a ruling regarding Serhiy Nechyporenko, former deputy director of the municipal enterprise "Spetskombinat for Funeral and Ritual Services". He was found guilty of demanding improper benefit and sentenced to five years of imprisonment.

Details of criminal activity

According to the case materials, Nechyporenko demanded money from Oleksandr Burhardt, the owner of the "Requiem" funeral home. In addition to direct demands, the official created obstacles to the normal work of the private entrepreneur, specifically by delaying burials.

The court investigation established that the defendant demanded 500 hryvnia for each burial. He also claimed 25% of the income received from transporting the bodies of fallen military personnel.

Amount of damages and punishment

The court proved that Nechyporenko received improper benefit totalling 25,200 hryvnia. Of this amount, 13,200 hryvnia was handed over in cash, and 12,000 hryvnia was transferred to a bank card of a third party.

During the trial, Nechyporenko did not admit his guilt. The criminal punishment entails not only five years of imprisonment but also the confiscation of half of his property. Additionally, the court banned him from holding relevant managerial positions for three years.
