Zelensky: Ukraine's security first, then discussions on Russian conditions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on Russia's demands concerning the provision of security guarantees. The head of state emphasised that the primary task must be ending the war and ensuring Ukraine's security. Only after achieving these goals can discussions begin regarding the conditions proposed by Moscow.

President's remark on the aggressor's position

Commenting on the intentions of the Russian side, Volodymyr Zelensky stated:

«Они агрессоры. Чего они боятся? Нас?» (They are aggressors. What are they afraid of? Us?)

Risks to the European security architecture

According to the head of state, Russia seeks not only to obtain non-aggression guarantees but also to conclude a separate agreement with the United States of America or the North Atlantic Alliance. In the president's assessment, such a document could transform the entire security system in Europe. At the same time, Volodymyr Zelensky underlined that the main priority remains the cessation of hostilities and the creation of reliable security guarantees for Ukraine.
