Oil transportation restored
The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has officially announced the resumption of operations for the oil transportation system via the Atirau-Samara pipeline. This decision was made following a temporary suspension resulting from an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles on the Samara production and dispatch centre in Russian territory.
Timeline of the incident
The suspension of oil pumping occurred overnight on Monday. After conducting the necessary technical inspection of the equipment, specialists returned the system to operation. According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy, the pipeline is currently functioning in normal mode.
Significance of the route for exports
The Atirau-Samara route is of significant importance for the export of Kazakh oil. It is through this system, which traverses Russian territory, that oil raw materials reach international markets.
