Kim Yo-jong calls US accusations over Binance hack a provocation

Refusal to acknowledge involvement in hacker attack

North Korea has officially rejected US accusations of involvement in the hack of cryptocurrency exchange Binance. Pyongyang's reaction came in response to a statement by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which pointed to the state's involvement in the cyberattack.

The North Korean authorities characterised these claims as a "provocation" and "baseless delusion".

Statement by Workers' Party representative

Kim Yo-jong issued the relevant comment. She is the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and holds the position of deputy head of a department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Kim Yo-jong sharply criticised the position of the US authorities regarding the incident with the exchange.
