Alarming information has emerged online regarding the possible illegal detention of a large group of people in a basement room of one of the buildings in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, Kyiv Oblast. According to social media users, approximately 40 individuals are in the locked space, with access controlled by armed men.
According to posts circulating online, an emergency medical team was called to the incident address. However, as the authors of the messages claim, healthcare workers were unable to enter the building. They were allegedly refused entry by individuals referred to as the "owners" of the facility on social media.
Discussions separately mention four people who are reportedly in critical condition. However, the source of this information is unknown, and it remains unclear whether medical staff had the opportunity to assess the patients' condition.
The primary source of these reports and their veracity have not yet been established. There are no official comments from the Kyiv Oblast police, the State Emergency Service, the regional military administration, or the emergency medical service confirming the described circumstances. It is also unknown whether witnesses contacted law enforcement or if officers were dispatched to the scene.
It is worth noting that a similar case was recorded in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka in March 2021. At that time, law enforcement uncovered a pseudo-rehabilitation centre where people were illegally detained and subjected to physical and psychological violence. Several suspects were formally notified of suspicion in connection with that case.
