Ukrzaliznytsia adds 10-day delay statistics to app

The mobile application of Ukrzaliznytsia has received a tool that allows users to assess the likelihood of delays for a specific train. The new feature displays the average number of evacuation stops and schedule deviations, calculated based on data from the previous 10 days. The company's press service reported this.

Reference information for route planning

Ukrzaliznytsia emphasised that these indicators are purely for reference. They do not guarantee the train's arrival on time and do not determine the exact number of stops during a specific journey. The actual situation on the line may change due to unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, passengers are advised to account for possible delays, especially if transfers or other important appointments are scheduled after arrival.

Safety remains the top priority

The company noted that during October, it was possible to significantly reduce the proportion of train delays. Despite this, the protection of passengers and railway employees remains a priority. Evacuation stops will be conducted when necessary, which may affect the movement schedule but is a necessary safety measure.

Regular data updates

The statistics in the app are planned to be updated regularly to ensure passengers have access to current information. Although the new feature facilitates trip preparation, it does not replace checking the current status of train movements. Passengers are advised to allow extra time in case of unforeseen changes to the schedule.

Previously, Ukrzaliznytsia explained that during a "yellow" air alert level, trains may continue to move, and passenger boarding and alighting are carried out according to the schedule. However, in the event of a direct threat to a specific train, it may be stopped, and passengers may be moved to a safe location.
