Europe begins development of its own satellite infrastructure

The process of developing a proprietary satellite network, which could become a full-fledged analogue of the American Starlink, has already begun in European countries. This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Reaction to potential US restrictions

The Ukrainian President explained in a conversation with journalists that everyone in Europe sees how the US can restrict the operation of Starlink, and is therefore already attempting to create an alternative.

Zelensky noted that Europeans are also users of this satellite system and therefore cannot ignore recent events related to its operation.

President's comment

«Європа бачить це. Питання (є - ред.) не тільки в нас. Вся Європа побачила, що можна регулювати (роботу Starlink - ред.) зі Сполучених Штатів Америки, у незалежності від домовленостей і контрактів можна обмежувати швидкість… Тому тепер європейці самі піднімають питання аналогів, і вони вже працюють, вони вже просуваються» ("Europe sees this. The issue (is - ed.) not only about us. All of Europe has seen that it is possible to regulate (the operation of Starlink - ed.) from the United States of America, that regardless of agreements and contracts, speed can be limited... Therefore, Europeans are now raising the issue of analogues themselves, and they are already working on it, they are already moving forward"), the President of Ukraine emphasised.

Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his conviction that the European project will be successfully implemented. «Я це вже бачу» ("I already see it"), the head of state assured.
