After strike on industrial facility

In the town of Manevychi in Volyn region, a morning strike on an industrial enterprise caused fires in production and warehouse premises. This was reported by the head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, Roman Romanyuk.

According to him, the fire has spread over a significant area, and the smoke front is moving towards residential buildings. Preliminary information indicates there are no dead or injured. Relevant services are working at the scene.

Call to stay indoors

Because the wind is blowing smoke towards the town, Romanyuk urged local residents to limit their time spent outdoors as much as possible.

«Вітер у сторону селища, тому закликаю місцевих жителів за можливості залишатися у приміщеннях, щільно зачинити вікна та двері, вимкнути припливну вентиляцію та не перебувати на відкритому повітрі без нагальної потреби» (The wind is blowing towards the town, so I urge local residents to stay indoors if possible, close windows and doors tightly, turn off supply ventilation, and not be outdoors without urgent need), the head of the Regional Military Administration emphasised.

Evacuation of residents of the "tridtsiatka"

The situation is complicated by heavy smoke. Oleksandr Havryliuk, the head of the Manevychi settlement council, addressed residents of the district locally known as the "tridtsiatka". He urged them to leave their homes immediately and temporarily relocate to acquaintances or friends in other parts of the settlement.

Context: mass drone attack

The incident occurred against the backdrop of a massive overnight attack by Russian drones on Volyn region in the night of October 15–16. According to regional authorities, approximately 20 aerial targets were launched at the region. The strikes damaged civilian and critical infrastructure.
