Ukrainian killed in hotel conflict in Trenčín, fellow citizen detained

Fatal incident in Slovak hotel

A fatal altercation occurred between two Ukrainian citizens in the city of Trenčín (Slovakia). According to local publications “Nový Čas” and “Pluska”, the conflict took place in one of the city’s hotels.

Circumstances of the incident

According to journalists, both participants in the incident were 53 years old. They were serving in an aviation unit and were on Slovak territory as part of training exercises.

During a heated argument in a hotel room, one of the men stabbed the other several times with a knife. The victim sustained serious injuries. Despite medical staff’s attempts to provide aid and transport him to a hospital, the man died during transit.

Response from law enforcement and military

Slovak police detained the second participant in the fight. Meanwhile, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that none of the individuals involved in this case are servicemen under their command.
