Kremlin comment on negotiations

Press secretary to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, told Russian media that his side does not intend to publicly discuss the details of the negotiations. He explained this decision by stating that disclosing details could harm a potential peaceful settlement. According to the Kremlin representative, much work remains ahead to reach agreements, and the future "serious conversation" will consist of a huge number of details. However, Peskov did not specify which issues remain unresolved.

Hope for maintaining silence in Oleshky

Separately, Peskov expressed hope that Ukraine will not violate the agreements on a temporary ceasefire in Oleshky in the Kherson region. He also stated that Russian troops continue to deliver massive strikes on Ukraine's military-industrial complex. This statement came against the backdrop of talks about a possible peaceful settlement, while Russia continues its war against Ukraine.

Humanitarian situation and Kyiv's position

Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced an agreement on conducting a humanitarian operation to unblock the temporarily occupied Oleshky. It is to ensure the delivery of food and medicines to the city, as well as help civilians leave the combat zone.

The head of state emphasised that the situation in Oleshky remains extremely difficult, as Russian occupiers have mined the roads. This complicates restoring access to the city and conducting the humanitarian mission. Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is ready to fulfil its part of the agreements and expects the effectiveness of American mediation. The implementation of the operation is to take place in the near future.

The temporarily occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region have effectively been isolated. Almost no food is reaching the city, and the food stocks that local residents grew in their own gardens are gradually running out.
