Jamala wins Eurovision 2016

The final of the "Eurovision 2016" contest took place today. Viewers were able to fully enjoy good music and witness a magnificent show. The hall in Stockholm was packed to capacity. This year, residents of China and the US were able to watch the contest for the first time.

Representatives from 26 countries performed for the audience.

As bookmakers predicted, the prize places were shared by representatives from three countries: Australia, which was participating in the contest for the second time, Russia, and Ukraine. Participants from these countries presented a bright, colourful show. Many viewers got goosebumps from the performance of the compositions.

According to the judges' voting results, Australia received the majority of the votes. However, viewers gave the representative from this country only fourth place. The top three in the viewers' voting results were: Poland, Russia, and Ukraine.

The suspense over the final results lasted until the last seconds of the voting.

In the end, the winner of "Eurovision 2016" was the representative from Ukraine, singer Jamala, with the song "1944".

Second place in the voting results went to Australia and singer Dami Im with the song Sound of Silence.

Third place went to Sergey Lazarev with the composition "You are the only one".
