Odesa developer appropriates coastal land worth 19 million hryvnia
A scandal has erupted in Odesa over the appropriation of land plots on the Black Sea coast.
The 73-year-old founder and 65-year-old director of a construction company forged documents, registering 15 land plots belonging to the Odesa Ecological University under their firm. The value of the illegally appropriated land is 19 million hryvnia.
The perpetrators have been charged with fraud and document forgery. If found guilty, they face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. As part of the investigation, a seizure has been placed on the land.
