Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky categorically rejected accusations from Donald Trump. The head of state called a lie the US leader's claim that Ukrainian attacks on oil refineries directly affect price levels in the US.
Shifting responsibility
In his address, Zelensky emphasised that Washington is unfairly shifting the focus of attention. According to the president, Trump decided to place responsibility for this issue not on Volodymyr Putin, but on the Ukrainian leader.
«Трамп вирішив покласти відповідальність за цю проблему не на Путіна, а на мене, пояснюючи своїм громадянам, що через це ціни на дизельне паливо в Америці зростають. Це повна неправда» (Trump decided to place responsibility for this issue not on Putin, but on me, explaining to his citizens that because of this, diesel fuel prices in America are rising. This is a complete lie), Zelensky stressed.
