Striking enemy air defence weapons
Military personnel of the 7th Rapid Reaction Air Assault Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the successful destruction of Russian air defence assets on the Hulyaipole direction. Specifically, a Buk-M1 surface-to-air missile system and another air defence system of unspecified type were destroyed.
Countering aviation and the role of reconnaissance
As noted by the corps, the Russians are deploying surface-to-air missile systems to suppress the actions of Ukrainian aviation, which strikes enemy rear areas. Operators of the 433rd Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment (OSpBS) in the area of responsibility of the 7th Air Assault Corps detected and accurately hit one of such systems.
«На Гуляйпільському напрямку росіяни стягують зенітні ракетні комплекси, щоб протидіяти українській авіації, яка активно завдає ударів по ворожих тилах. Один із таких комплексів – "Бук-М1", який виявили та уразили оператори 433 ОПБпС у смузі відповідальності 7 корпусу ДШВ», - йдеться у повідомленні корпусу. ("On the Hulyaipole direction, the Russians are deploying surface-to-air missile systems to counter Ukrainian aviation, which is actively striking enemy rear areas. One of such systems – the 'Buk-M1', which was detected and hit by operators of the 433rd OSpBS in the area of responsibility of the 7th Air Assault Corps," - reads the corps' statement.)
Difficulties with camouflaging equipment
It is known that Russian forces carefully hide their air defence systems in tree lines. However, with the onset of the autumn season, vegetation becomes sparser, making it increasingly difficult for the aggressor to conceal valuable equipment.
During the next sortie, drone operators also hit another camouflaged target – an air defence system of unspecified type. The military grouping emphasises that coordinated interaction between units and effective exchange of reconnaissance data are yielding results.
