Court ruling on ex-energy minister

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HAC) issued a decision easing the conditions of the preventive measure for former energy minister Herman Halushchenko. The court instance allowed him to remove the electronic bracelet.

At the same time, the court did not cancel all restrictions. A number of procedural obligations for Halushchenko have been extended for another two months.

What remains in force

In accordance with the HAC decision, the ex-minister is obliged to comply with the following conditions:

  • not leave the borders of Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast without prior permission;
  • surrender documents certifying identity for travel abroad;
  • notify law enforcement agencies of any change of place of residence or work;
  • appear before the detective, prosecutor, or court;
  • refrain from contact with other persons involved in the criminal proceedings.

Change in control regime

The key change was the termination of the obligation to wear an electronic monitoring device. The remaining procedural obligations remain in force until the end of the new term.
