Position of hockey federations

Representatives of the national hockey federations of five European states have officially announced their intention not to participate in matches against the Russian national team. This decision concerns the World Championship scheduled to be held in 2027.

As reported by official industry bodies, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and Latvia have declared a boycott of matches against the Russian team.

Conditions for implementing the boycott

The aforementioned national teams emphasised that their position is conditional. The refusal to hold matches becomes effective only if the Russian team is granted admission to the tournament. If Russia is not admitted to the competition, the restrictions will not apply.
