Thousands of online casinos blocked in Ukraine
Ukraine continues its active fight against illegal online casinos. According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, in 2024, the following were blocked:
- 92 apps in the App Store
- 26 apps in Google Play
- 4,460 websites by order of the State Special Communications Service
Cooperation with Apple and Google
As early as 2023, at the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian authorities approached Apple and Google with a proposal to remove illegal gambling apps from their platforms.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation notes that an expedited blocking mechanism has been established with the tech giants. Ukrainians can now report illegal casinos directly, after which the information is promptly forwarded to Apple and Google for app removal.
