Restoring documents for Oleshky residents

Ukraine's Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi reported on providing administrative support to citizens who managed to evacuate from the temporarily occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region. According to him, State Migration Service staff have already begun the procedure of issuing Ukrainian citizen passports for those who left the city.

A significant number of evacuees lost their personal documents while under the control of Russian occupiers. As the minister noted, among those needing assistance are children who will receive their passports for the first time:

«Багато людей втратили в окупації всі свої документи. Є й діти, які свій паспорт отримають вперше» (Many people lost all their documents under occupation. There are also children who will receive their passport for the first time), Vyhivskyi stated.

He clarified that migration service employees have already received dozens of applications. The organisation of the process ensures maximum convenience for people and that all necessary procedures are completely free of charge.

Humanitarian support during occupation

Ivan Vyhivskyi reminded that assistance to Oleshky residents was not limited to the period after evacuation. While citizens remained on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region, Ukrainian units provided them with the most essential supplies.

National Guard servicemen and border guards, together with other units, used unmanned aerial vehicles to deliver food products. Residents were sent canned goods, grains, and kits for children.

«Сьогодні евакуйовані жителі кажуть, що ця допомога давала змогу вижити» (Today, evacuated residents say that this aid made it possible to survive), the Interior Minister emphasised.

Joint efforts of state bodies

Currently, representatives of various institutions have joined in providing support to evacuated Ukrainians. This process involves staff from the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, authorities, and charitable organisations.

Ivan Vyhivskyi thanked all participants who are helping Ukrainians who managed to leave the occupied city.

It was previously reported that over 600 kg of humanitarian aid was delivered to Oleshky using drones. Military personnel handed over food, educational games, and toys for children to local residents.
