Higher education institutions in Ukraine are preparing for upcoming inspections to be held in January. Primary attention will be paid to students aged over 25. This decision was made due to the increase in the number of such students and the identification of violations during their admission and study processes.
This was stated by Ruslan Hurak, Head of the State Service of Quality Education. According to him, the number of students aged 25 and over has increased from approximately 30,000 in 2021–2022 to 217,770. In some universities, these students account for up to 98% of the total student body.
Ruslan Hurak noted that inspections by the State Service of Quality Education revealed numerous violations. These concern the admission process, the organisation of studies, and the assessment of students.
In this regard, rectors are urged to verify the study results of students for the current session.
