The occupation administration of Mariupol has reviewed existing leases for municipal property, significantly raising rates for certain facilities — by up to three times.

Financial impact on the occupation budget

According to the Centre for the Study of Occupation, these measures have already brought over 45 million rubles in additional revenue to the occupation treasury. The administration plans to generate a further 30 million rubles from this initiative by the end of the current year.

Researchers note that the increase in revenue is achieved by raising the financial burden on existing tenants of municipal property.

Part of a long-term strategy

According to expert data, such steps are part of the approved budget policy of the occupation administration for the period 2027–2029. This strategy provides for an annual increase in the revenue of the occupation authorities of at least 13.4%.
