Risk of delays in weapons delivery timelines

The Polish army may receive American PAC-3 MSE interceptor missiles for Patriot air defence systems later than indicated in the initial schedule. This was stated by the commander of the Polish army's operational forces, General Ireneusz Nowak, who noted that such delays are practically inevitable.

According to Reuters, the postponement of delivery deadlines is linked to the depletion of US weapons stockpiles amid hostilities around Iran. Washington has already warned European allies about possible changes to the schedules for delivering military equipment and ammunition. The cause of this situation is the increased US need for missiles for its own armed forces and the conduct of operations in the Middle East.

Strategic significance of PAC-3 MSE missiles

PAC-3 MSE are modern interceptor missiles designed primarily to destroy ballistic missiles and other aerial threats. They constitute one of the key components of Patriot systems, on which Poland relies for the defence of its territory and NATO's eastern flank.

Possible delays may complicate Warsaw's plans to replenish missile stockpiles and further strengthen air defence. Meanwhile, the new delivery deadlines and the number of missiles affected by the postponement have not yet been specified.
