Green Day harshly criticise Trump, Musk and Vance

American punk rock band Green Day made sharp remarks about Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Senator JD Vance during a concert in Melbourne. The band's frontman Billie Joe Armstrong addressed the audience from the stage with a rhetorical question: «Разве вы не хотите, чтобы Трамп и Маск заткнулись?» (Don't you want Trump and Musk to shut up?)

Political protest through music

The musicians did not limit themselves to verbal statements and made changes to the lyrics of one of their signature songs – Jesus of Suburbia. In the updated version, the lines were directed against JD Vance, Trump's ally:

Am I retarded or am I just JD Vance?
(Я умственно отсталый или я просто Джей Д. Венс? (Am I retarded or am I just JD Vance?))

In addition, the song featured a politically charged line:

We are the kids of war and peace: from Ukraine to Middle East
(Мы дети войны и мира: от Украины до Ближнего Востока (We are the children of war and peace: from Ukraine to the Middle East)).
