Musk points to contradiction between statements and terms of use
US entrepreneur Elon Musk commented on a post by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dated 16 October. In that post, the head of state mentioned the use of Starlink technology for medium-range drone strikes.
According to Musk, such use of the system contradicts its terms of operation.
«Пояснюю для дурнів: Зеленський сам опублікував допис про те, що використовує Starlink для атак дронами, що суперечить умовам використання Starlink» (I am explaining this for the idiots: Zelensky himself published a post about using Starlink for drone attacks, which contradicts the terms of use of Starlink), the entrepreneur stated.
To back up his words, Musk added a screenshot from Zelensky's page to the message. He paid particular attention to the fragment: «Ми також використовуємо Starlink для ударів середньої дальності» (We also use Starlink for medium-range strikes).
Restrictions already implemented
The day before, Musk stated that Ukraine had violated Starlink usage rules by applying the system for offensive drone strikes.
He said that this capability had been blocked last week.
In a new post, Musk clarified that he specifically meant the control of strike drones at medium distances. However, he did not provide details on what specific restrictions were implemented or how they affected the operation of Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.
