The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released updated data on Russian army losses. According to this information, the aggressor state lost 350,260 military personnel between January and September 2026. This means that, on average, one Russian soldier is killed or wounded every 67 seconds.

September was the most alarming month for the enemy

The dynamics of losses show an increase in pace throughout the year. Russian troops lost the highest number of personnel in September 2026 — 46,230 individuals. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation's armed forces have also lost 12,448 tanks and over 585,000 unmanned aerial vehicles.

Financial consequences of the war for Russia

In addition to personnel and equipment losses, the General Staff notes extensive financial damages. Russia's cumulative financial losses from the war have already exceeded $700 billion. In 2026 alone, the war will cost the aggressor state's budget $185 billion, which accounts for 7.5% of its gross domestic product. This amount is growing every year.
