Disorganisation strategy through public disclosures

Former head of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad, David Barnea, revealed details of the tactics employed during the 12-day conflict. According to him, Tel Aviv deliberately published video recordings showing the activities of agents on Iranian territory. The main objective of these actions was to force Iranian security services into mass detentions, which would lead to the disorganisation of their operations.

Scale of detentions and consequences for security forces

Barnea cites figures indicating that by the second day of the escalation, Iranian authorities had detained approximately 21,000 people. The former intelligence chief is convinced that such large-scale arrests caused confusion in the activities of Iran's security agencies. This complicated the process of identifying genuine Israeli intelligence officers among the large number of detainees. Subsequently, some of the detainees began to be released.

Fate of agents and accuracy of assessments

David Barnea also stated that some individuals executed in Iran on charges of collaborating with Israeli intelligence were, in fact, not connected to it. At the same time, according to his assessment, 99.9% of genuine Mossad agents remained unexposed. He added that, according to his data, some Israeli agents are still in Tehran.

Barnea's statements describe the probable strategy of Israeli intelligence during the conflict. However, the figures provided regarding detentions and claims about the scale of the agent network require independent verification.
