During the latest Russian strike on Ukrainian territory, a violation of Moldova's airspace was recorded. An enemy unmanned aerial vehicle entered the republic's zone of responsibility, forcing Moldovan authorities to temporarily introduce restrictions on aviation activity in the northern and central parts of the country.
Chronology of the incident
According to official data from the agency, at 16:24 the drone crossed the border, moving from the Odesa region towards the unrecognised Transnistria. Its presence was subsequently detected in the Telenești district. At 16:54, the object disappeared from radar screens in the central part of the republic. Currently, Moldovan military personnel, together with international partners, continue to monitor the air situation.
Statistics on violations and cooperation with Ukraine
The agency recalled previous statements by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan. He noted that since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Moldova's airspace has been violated more than 100 times. Based on this statistic, Chisinau is actively studying Ukrainian experience in the field of air defence.
