Refusal of participation for Russian leader

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham officially announced that Vladimir Putin will not receive an invitation to the G20 summit, scheduled to be held in Manchester in November 2027. According to the British leader, the presence of the Russian dictator at this international meeting is completely ruled out due to the sanctions currently in force against the Kremlin.

Meanwhile, as Burnham noted, Russia will be able to be represented at the summit only by officials of a lower rank.

London's position on Ukraine and peacekeeping forces

The Prime Minister confirmed that Britain will continue to provide military and financial assistance to Ukraine until the war with Russia is fully over. In addition, London has expressed its readiness to send its troops to the peacekeeping forces if an agreement on ending the conflict is reached.

China and the issue of artificial intelligence

Unlike Russia, the British government seeks to host Chinese President Xi Jinping at the summit. It is expected that economic cooperation and the development of Manchester may become a model for forming new relations between countries.

The main topic of the 2027 G20 meeting will be the development of a "global set of standards" for artificial intelligence. Britain plans to act as an independent mediator on this issue between the US and China.

"Autumn diplomacy" and foreign policy plans

Andy Burnham has held the post of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since July. The holding of the "Group of Twenty" summit in Manchester will become a key point for testing his international strategy, which the politician calls "autumn diplomacy".

Within the framework of the new course, the British government also plans to update relations with the EU, the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Nations.

It is worth noting that Ukraine has not yet received an official invitation to participate in the "Group of Twenty" summit, which will take place next month.
