The information database of the ATB-Market network has fallen into the hands of criminals, who have already managed to sell it for $15,000. The buyer turned out to be the Russian project "Khimera", which extracts and sells data for fraudulent call centres. According to available data, the stolen information has been passed to so-called "office workers" for further operations targeting Ukrainian citizens.

Identification of cybercriminals

After the ATB website resumed operation, representatives of the hacker group appeared on the internet, publicly displaying their "achievements". The founder of this group is a user with the nickname @ceeertik. According to his own words, he resides in Prague (Czech Republic), but the criminal's actual location is Warsaw (Poland).

Method of committing the crime

The incident is not a typical hacker hack. The criminals likely gained access to the systems of one of the integrator companies (an SBP provider) that services several major projects. This allowed them to access certain accounts and calmly download the data.

This group already had experience with similar actions: previously, they attacked the tourism company Tez Tour and the pizza chain "Dodo". In those cases, the authenticity of the stolen databases was also confirmed. Therefore, in the case of ATB, this is a real information leak, not a fake or an internal initiative by the network's management.
