Outcome of the appeal hearing

The appellate instance upheld the acquittal handed down to Serhiy Filonenko, former head of the State Enterprise "Izyum Instrument-Making Plant". Thus, the court has finally closed the criminal proceedings against him within the framework of the high-profile case known as the "Hladkovskyi schemes".

Charges and the investigation's version

According to the investigation, Serhiy Filonenko allegedly received a bribe of over 2 million hryvnia. His activities, according to the prosecution's version, involved concealing facts of fraud in the payment for military products. These operations were carried out by the private limited liability company "Optimumspetsdetal", which acted as a front company. This firm featured in another criminal case regarding the misappropriation of funds at "Ukroboronprom", where the main suspect is former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleh Hladkovskyi (Svyarnchuk).

Court decision

Despite the seriousness of the charges, the judges concluded that the evidence base provided by the prosecution was insufficient to hold Serhiy Filonenko criminally liable. Therefore, he was acquitted, and the appellate court confirmed the legality of this decision.
