Detention at place of service

In the city of Chop, law enforcement agencies detained a military serviceman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He is suspected of demanding an undue advantage for facilitating military service in the rear. The incident occurred directly in the suspect's office. According to the investigation, the man demanded 20,000 hryvnia from a mobilised serviceman for help in transferring to the rear units of the 94th Border Guard Regiment.

Within the framework of the criminal proceedings, investigators conducted three searches. Checks were carried out in the suspect's office, at his place of residence, and in the car he used.

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Strategic Investigations Directorate, and the State Bureau of Investigations were involved in documenting the offence. Procedural supervision is being carried out by the Zakarpattia Specialised Prosecutor's Office in the Sphere of Defence of the Western Region.

Charge and preventive measure

The border guard was charged under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court ruled to apply a preventive measure in the form of 24-hour house arrest.
