Attempt to pass bribe hidden in exam sheet

In the city of Kolomyia, an attempt to bribe an administrator of a Ministry of Internal Affairs service centre was established. The incident took place in 2025. Before starting the practical part of the test for obtaining a driving licence, a woman hid a 100-euro banknote in an exam sheet. She handed this document to the administrator when she got into the car designated for the test.

Court ruling: fine and confiscation

Court authorities reviewed the case and found the defendant guilty of offering improper benefit to a public official. As a result of this decision, a penalty in the form of a fine of 17,000 hryvnia was imposed. In addition, the 100 euros the defendant attempted to use as a bribe were confiscated in favour of the state. The woman will also have to reimburse the costs of the court proceedings.

Warning from the MVS

The regional MVS service centre emphasises that the purpose of the practical test is to verify actual driving skills. An official warning states that any attempt to influence an examiner through bribery may lead to criminal liability.
