Peskov announces trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi on security guarantees

Press Secretary to the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov informed about the intention to organise trilateral consultations involving Ukraine, the United States of America, and the Russian Federation. According to him, such a meeting is planned to be held in the capital of the United Arab Emirates — Abu Dhabi — in the first half of November.

Focus on security issues

The main subject of discussion at the planned talks will be security issues for Kyiv and Moscow. As Peskov noted, these discussions will concern the situation that has arisen after the achievement of a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The role of the European Union

The Kremlin representative also commented on the possible participation of a European Union representative in the process. He emphasised that «доцільність участі спецпосланника ЄС на переговорах залежатиме від позиції, яку займе Брюссель» (the expediency of the EU special envoy's participation in the talks will depend on the position taken by Brussels).
