Nova Poshta to deliver parcels using a new method

Nova Poshta, Ukraine's largest transport company, intends to launch a trial of a new cargo delivery method for recipients as early as September this year. Electric vehicles will be used for this purpose. This refers not to cars, but to scooters.

Such electric vehicles are economical. It is sufficient to charge the device from the power grid at night or during the day.  

Using them eliminates problems with parking and its payment, as well as traffic jams, which are observed in large settlements during peak hours.

Electric scooters allow access even to remote locations.

Nova Poshta management intends to survey couriers on how convenient it is for them to deliver parcels on scooters during the winter period. If the initiative proves successful, the service will be implemented in all major cities of the country next year. For now, the trial will take place only in the capital.

Scooters from well-known brands are distinguished by their reliability and good off-road capability. By purchasing electric vehicles with a warranty, the courier service will be able to save significant amounts. However, a courier will not be able to deliver a large number of parcels. The same applies to bulky cargo.

Other delivery methods

At the same time, the transportation of large cargo by traditional freight vehicles, as well as self-pickup from a parcel pickup point – are being maintained.

Collection at a branch has a number of advantages for users:

·         Convenience. The recipient can collect the cargo when it is convenient for them. They are not tied to the courier's arrival time, etc.

·         Privacy. Not everyone likes the fact that courier companies know their address. Self-pickup allows these details to be kept confidential and, thus, may increase the security of the residence.

·         Savings. Collecting cargo at a warehouse is significantly cheaper than home delivery. This way, it is possible to save up to 50% of the delivery cost. And sometimes even more.

When picking up from a self-pickup point, a person can independently transport the cargo to where they need it or divide it into separate parts and deliver them to different locations. This is quite convenient.
