Security boost in the capital

In response to the escalation of the situation around the Polish Constitutional Tribunal, additional law enforcement forces are being deployed to Warsaw. Specifically, support for the capital will be provided by police from the city of Katowice, which is located more than 300 kilometres from Warsaw. This decision was made against the backdrop of a growing number of participants in protest actions and the intensification of the conflict surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal.

Accusations against the government

The grounds for the protests were accusations directed at the Polish government for carrying out illegal actions regarding the Constitutional Tribunal. The first president of the Polish Supreme Court, Zbigniew Kapiński, also condemned the actions of the cabinet of ministers, which he qualified as illegal.

Plans for a meeting with the president

A meeting between Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Zbigniew Kapiński is scheduled for the near future.
