A woman who was evacuated from Lyman shared her family's story. Her parents remained in the city until the last possible moment. Currently, their house is completely destroyed, all property has been lost, and the plot is mined. After leaving the combat zone, the family found itself in a difficult situation due to a complete lack of external support.
According to the woman, after the evacuation, they had to resolve all household and medical issues on their own. She emphasises that she has to find contacts and resolve organisational matters independently: «Батьки виїхали, і на цьому все. (Parents left, and that's it. Apart from me, they are not needed by anyone. You have to arrange a hospital, call everyone you can. Find housing, resolve all issues. Living without connections is very expensive, and dying is even more expensive. No support at all).
The situation worsened after the 72-year-old father suffered a stroke with a brain haemorrhage. He was initially transported to Sloviansk, and later to Dnipro. However, as the daughter notes, she is solely responsible for organising treatment, finding the appropriate hospital and a place to live. She claims that without personal acquaintances, it is practically impossible to resolve these issues.
Currently, the woman is considering the option of moving her parents to Kyiv, but due to the current situation in the capital, she cannot determine the best course of action. She concludes her story with the words: «Переселенці нікому не потрібні. Навіть здорова людина не потрібна, а переселенець тим більше. Все дуже сумно» (Displaced persons are not needed by anyone. Even a healthy person is not needed, and a displaced person even more so. Everything is very sad).
