Investigation details regarding the former head
Following an inspection conducted by the Office of the Prosecutor General, it was established that the reason for the foreign trip of former head Ruslan Kravchenko was fictitious. Acting Prosecutor General Anton Kovalskyi explained that Kravchenko used an invitation to the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which was addressed to his deputy Viktor Logachov, for the trip. However, Logachov declined to participate in the event.
Unauthorised issuance of an order
After the deputy's refusal, Kravchenko independently signed an order for his own business trip. To formalise such trips, it was necessary to involve the Department of International Cooperation of the Office of the Prosecutor General, which was not done.
«Коли 14 вересня прийшли до Кравченка в кабінет, то виявили там гербову печатку і конверт. У конверті знаходився підписаний ним наказ про відрядження та його копія» (When we went to Kravchenko's office on 14 September, we found an official seal and an envelope there. The envelope contained an order for a business trip signed by him and a copy of it), Kovalskyi said.
Consequences for the official
Due to the violations identified, Kravchenko was found guilty of an official violation. He now faces disciplinary liability.
