Massive strike on humanitarian point
Russian occupiers carried out a massive shelling of the Komyshevaha settlement in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, resulting in the deaths of 18 people. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Monday, 2 November.
According to the head of state, the enemy struck the local school several times from the morning, where the distribution of humanitarian aid was taking place at that moment. After the first hit, Russian troops dropped nine more aerial bombs directly on the shelter where people were located. Currently, 18 deaths have been confirmed, and five people were injured. Rescue operations are ongoing: State Emergency Service units, special services, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are deployed at the scene. The President also published a video recording from the shelling site, provided by the State Emergency Service.
Zelenskyy: enemy deliberately struck a known location
“Russians could not have failed to know that every week, locals who remained in Komyshevaha received humanitarian aid precisely there. And this is further proof that Russia does not want any de-escalation, any real justice,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised. Strong response from the world is needed
He added that after the humanitarian operation in Oleshky, “there was a moment when the next steps could have shown that the approach of peace was possible,” however, Russia gives the opposite signal with such crimes and proves that it counts on further killings.
“A response to this is needed, a response from the world. Strong and harsh. A response to Russia. And support for Ukraine. Lives must be protected. Thank you to everyone who is helping!”, the President noted. (A response to this is needed, a response from the world. Strong and harsh. A response to Russia. And support for Ukraine.
