The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) officially denied the accusations made by former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. The Bureau stated that no preparatory acts of a violent nature had been carried out against him.
Law enforcement assessment of the situation
Representatives of the NABU and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) interpreted Kravchenko's public statements as an attempt to create preconditions for obtaining protection in the country where he is currently located. As noted by the institution, the former Prosecutor General hastily left Ukrainian territory immediately after the joint NABU and SAP operation codenamed "Carthage" was conducted.
«НАБУ та САП сприймають заяву колишнього генерального прокурора, який поспішно покинув територію України після реалізації операції НАБУ і САП "Карфаген", як спробу забезпечити собі захист у державі перебування» (The NABU and SAP interpret the statement of the former Prosecutor General, who hastily left Ukrainian territory after the implementation of the NABU and SAP "Carthage" operation, as an attempt to secure protection for himself in the country of residence), the Bureau emphasised.
Debunking myths about involvement
The NABU also emphasised that any claims regarding the involvement of the NABU and SAP in the events referenced by Kravchenko have no factual basis and do not correspond to reality.
