Ombudsman: Normal life is being restored in Kherson and Oleshky after the cessation of hostilities

Parliamentary Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets published observations regarding the state of public life in Kherson and the neighbouring town of Oleshky. According to him, the establishment of a cessation of hostilities regime has positively impacted the daily activity of residents in these territories.

Reaction of local residents

As the ombudsman noted, local residents tell his representative: «Головне — щоб зберігався мир» (The main thing is that peace is preserved). Residents also ask for efforts to be made to extend the current cessation of hostilities regime.

Changes in the urban space

Dmytro Lubinets described in detail the atmosphere prevailing on the streets: «На вулицях стало помітно більше людей, міське життя активізувалося. Люди спокійно виходять на вулицю, гуляють і насолоджуються осіннім сонцем. Те, що для багатьох здається буденністю, для жителів Херсонщини сьогодні — найзаповітніше бажання» (There are noticeably more people on the streets, and urban life has become more active. People calmly go out, walk around, and enjoy the autumn sun. What seems like routine to many is today the most cherished wish for the residents of the Kherson region).
