Condition of materials and causes of damage

The frames clearly show that the fire caused by the shelling inflicted serious damage to the book fund. In addition to the direct action of fire, a significant portion of the damage was caused by water used during firefighting. This combination of factors negatively affected the preservation of the publications stored in the warehouses.
