Lawyer claims detention procedure was violated

Masi Nayeem, acting in the capacity of a lawyer, published information about the conduct of an urgent search of an employee of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. According to him, the actions of the law enforcement officers had the character of a forceful detention of a military serviceman.

Description of events at the scene

According to Nayeem's claims, SBU representatives broke down the door of the premises, after which they knocked the serviceman to the ground and put handcuffs on him. The lawyer also emphasised that the special service employees did not wait for the arrival of GUR internal security representatives, although, in his belief, this was a mandatory condition for conducting such measures.

Case context

Masi Nayeem indicated that the search is presumably being conducted within the framework of a case related to Monaco. It is worth recalling that previously, after the assassination attempt on Vadym Yermolayev in Monaco, GUR representatives contacted him, assuring him that the directorate was not involved in this incident.
