IRGC reports interception of US MQM-170 drone over Qeshm Island

The Iranian side officially reported the interception of a US unmanned aerial vehicle in the airspace over Qeshm Island, located in the south of the state.

The relevant information was published by the Tasnim news agency, citing data from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Details of the incident

The report states that a fifth-generation reconnaissance UAV of the MQM-170 model was successfully captured. According to IRGC data, advanced electronic warfare systems of the Corps' Aerospace Force were used for this purpose.

"Американський розвідувальний БПЛА п'ятого покоління MQM-170 був перехоплений у повітряному просторі над островом Кешм за допомогою передових систем радіоелектронної боротьби Повітряно-космічних сил КСІР", - йдеться в повідомленні. It is worth noting that this is not the first case in which Iranian military officials have claimed the interception of drones of exactly this type.
