Heroic act by a law enforcement officer

Polish media circulated a photograph of a police officer who took part in the confrontation with an armed attacker in central Krakow. The image shows that the officer was armed only with his service pistol, while his opponent was equipped with a carbine, a helmet and a bulletproof vest.

Course of the shootout

During the exchange of fire, the police officer was injured. Despite this, he continued to hold the detainee until his physical strength failed and he fell to the ground.

The image instantly went viral on social media. Internet users are expressing gratitude to the officer for his actions during the attack, calling him a hero. In their words, it was precisely thanks to the police officers' determination that an increase in the number of victims was prevented.

According to information from Polish mass media, two police officers sustained gunshot wounds as a result of the shooting. One of them is in critical condition, and doctors are trying to save his life. Meanwhile, official authorities have not specified which of the law enforcement officers involved in the arrest sustained the most severe injuries.
