Washington's expectations unmet

Volodymyr Putin is currently demonstrating readiness only to continue the negotiation process regarding the cessation of the war against Ukraine. Despite Washington taking certain steps towards Moscow, no substantial concessions from the Kremlin have materialised.

According to sources, the White House had hoped that the easing of sanctions restrictions, particularly regarding Russian diesel fuel, and other US actions would stimulate the Russian side to show greater readiness for compromise solutions. However, at this point, the only result achieved has been the resumption of negotiations.

Prospects for further consultations

The next meeting of delegations from Ukraine, the United States and Russia may take place in Abu Dhabi. The approximate date for these negotiations is around 10 November.
