Former People's Deputy from the "Petro Poroshenko Bloc" Arkadii Kornatsky has initiated the procedure for registering a trademark named "Political Party 73.22%". This figure symbolises the percentage of votes Volodymyr Zelensky received in the second round of the 2019 presidential elections.
According to Kornatsky, his goal is not to create a new political force, but to legally protect the brand. The former MP explained that during the period of martial law, he does not plan to launch a political project. However, he wants to register the trademark to prevent others from using this name. In his view, this will help prevent the emergence of fake parallel projects.
It is worth noting that filing an application for trademark registration is not equivalent to establishing a political party.
In addition to protecting the name, Arkadii Kornatsky spoke about the concept of creating an informal association. His idea is to consolidate those voters who supported Volodymyr Zelensky in the second round of the 2019 elections.
«Є певні ідеї консолідувати цих 73,22% виборців, які проголосували за Зеленського у другому турі 2019 року, для того, щоб звернутися до президента з конкретними вимогами щодо внутрішніх проблем України», — зазначив Корнацький. (There are certain ideas to consolidate these 73.22% of voters who voted for Zelensky in the second round of 2019, in order to address the president with specific demands regarding Ukraine's internal problems, Kornatsky noted.)
