Verdict for collaboration with enemy intelligence

A 65-year-old resident of Kharkiv was found guilty of committing high treason. She was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Details of the search operation

According to the case materials, in 2024, representatives of Russian military intelligence recruited the Kharkiv woman, who at the time was working as a cleaner. She then began carrying out intelligence tasks for her handler, with whom she maintained contact via the Telegram messenger.

The agent's main task was to collect and transmit secret information. Specifically, she gathered data on the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and the location of a training centre for Ukrainian servicemen. Additionally, her duties included recording the movements of Ukrainian Armed Forces military equipment and confirming facts of missile strikes on target objects.

Detention and legal consequences

Law enforcement officers detained the woman in October 2024 immediately after she completed another task received from a Russian special service.

Prosecutors from the Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office proved her guilt in high treason under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court decided to deprive her of liberty for a term of 15 years and confiscate her property.

Other investigations

Recall that an agent of Russian military intelligence, who was exposed for preparing two explosions in Vinnytsia, was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, the criminal planned to blow up a car belonging to a Ukrainian military officer and a police administrative building.
