Five units of the Army Aviation received ten 4WD DAF trucks. This equipment, with a total value exceeding UAH 11.2 million, is intended for the rapid delivery of flight crews, ammunition, weapons, and spare parts to helicopters. The purchase was made thanks to a donation from the company "Ukrhydroenergo".
As reported by the Sergiy Prituli Charity Foundation, the 11th, 12th, 16th, and 18th Separate Brigades of the Army Aviation, as well as the 120th Army Commandant's Office, each received two trucks. The vehicles have already been deployed to support the combat operations of the crews.
Bogdan Danyliv, head of the military department of the Sergiy Prituli Foundation, noted that the military approached the organisation with a clear request to enhance mobility, as Army Aviation repels air attacks in a virtually non-stop mode.
«Ми цей запит закрили – десять повнопривідних DAF уже в розпорядженні п’яти підрозділів. Підвезення боєкомплекту, швидке перекидання пілотів до вертольотів і підготовка до вильоту тепер займатимуть значно менше часу. Швидка логістика рятує життя», – наголосив Данилів. (We have fulfilled this request – ten 4WD DAFs are now at the disposal of five units. The delivery of ammunition, the rapid transfer of pilots to helicopters, and preparation for takeoff will now take significantly less time. Rapid logistics saves lives, Danyliv emphasised.)
The foundation emphasises that ground mobility is a crucial component of the work of the Army Aviation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which participates in repelling air attacks. The use of mobile transport allows for faster delivery of necessary cargo and dispersal of stockpiles, ensuring greater mobility of units while operating in field conditions.
A representative of the command of the 16th Separate Army Aviation Brigade "Brody" stated that the trucks will be used, among other things, for transporting spare parts to aviation equipment, weapons, and other critically important cargo.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Sergiy Prituli Foundation has provided aid worth over UAH 73 million to Army Aviation units. Among the equipment transferred are flight helmets, radios, receivers, drones, antenna systems, and other gear.
In total, according to the foundation, since the start of the full-scale war, the organisation has raised over UAH 13 billion to support the Defence Forces of Ukraine and has implemented hundreds of projects for the purchase of air defence systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, armoured vehicles, communication equipment, and medical equipment.
