Zelensky: full Starlink operation in Ukraine possible within next 48 hours

Awaiting positive decision on satellite communications

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the full operation of the Starlink satellite system within the country's territory could be ensured within the next two days. The head of state shared this information at a joint press conference held after a meeting in Oslo with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Commenting on the prospects of implementing this task, the head of the Ukrainian state recalled his conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, which took place en route to Oslo.

«Можливо, за 48 годин матимемо результат» (Perhaps within 48 hours we will have a result), Volodymyr Zelensky stated, defining the approximate timeframe for making the relevant decisions.

Details of consultations with the US

According to the President, during the conversation with Marco Rubio, the parties discussed not only the operation of Starlink but also other important security issues. The focus was on the supply of interceptor missiles and the intelligence sphere.

Volodymyr Zelensky assessed the dialogue as productive and specific. The participants of the negotiations focused on key areas of cooperation and agreed on further steps for their implementation.

Gratitude for intelligence support

Separately, the President emphasised the significance of American intelligence for the defence of Ukrainian territories. He noted that thanks to cooperation with the US, the early warning system is operating effectively, allowing for the timely detection of approaching ballistic missiles.
